Why Walk...

when you can fly?

I had a dream when I was 6 or 7 years old. My parents had dropped me off at a building in what looked like NYC. The building was so tall you couldn't see the top when standing at the bottom. Everything was sort of greyish in color.

No one was walking in or out of the building. Instead, there were hundreds of people flying above me, in and out of open windows. I stared up at them longingly. All of a sudden an Asian girl about my age alit next to me.

She looked at me quizzically. "Why walk when you can fly?" she asked.

With that, I raised my arms, took to the air, and flew into the building.

I don't remember anything after that. But for some reason this 20 year old dream sticks with me. You can have your own interpretation, but to me, it is a call to be adventurous.

When faced with the decision to do something safe or do something new, I always think to myself:

Oh Elise, why walk when you can fly!
