I like the idea that people are constantly pulled together. Even as we try to disentangle ourselves from everyone and everything, we cannot overcome gravity. We were meant to attach. We are meant to be pulled together.
The idea that everyone has a twin flame, or twin soul, was first espoused by Aristophanes. He postulated that everyone had been born with 4 arms, 4 legs, and two heads. Zeus was fearful of their power and split them all up. Now we search the world for our other half, the completion of our body and soul.
Maybe that is why gravity works. We have to keep crashing into each other until the right one is found. The one that fits next to you. Gravity is messy. It smashes atoms together and then rips them apart. But maybe it is necessary. Maybe the carnage is what makes someone ready to meet their twin.
My only question is this: is a soul mate a person just like you, or a mirror image opposite?
I think it is the mirror image. A person who reflects you and inspires the changes you wish to see.
