There are no small roles, only small actors.

I have always been small. Like, really small. It wasn't that I hit some sort of growth spurt early and then everyone outgrew me. All of my elementary school pictures, in the front and all the way to the right; smallest in the class.

I don't realize very often how small I am. It doesn't come up. Unless I stand up at the same time as someone else. Then I think, "Whoa, that person is tall."

My husband bought me mace the other day. I scoffed at it. He looked at me and said, "Elise, I know you don't think so, but you are tiny and you should have this.

I keep it in the car. I don't know where it is right now.

Sometimes someone will put their hand next to mine. It is shocking to see the size difference. My hands look like a child's.

I have to ask for help getting things off the top shelf at the grocery store. I have to ride kids' bikes because adult ones are too big. I pull the seat in my car all the way up.

I'm small.
