Is totally amazing. I was watching a concert movie of his. Ziggy Stardust tour. 1975?
My mom saw the Ziggy Stardust tour. Diamond Dogs too. I'm so totally jealous. I would bone Bowie in a heartbeat.
When I was a little girl, and I mean little, maybe 3 or 4 years old, my mom bought me a little record player. It had a lid, and it folded up like a suitcase. I remember it vividly. The lid was yellow and the body was white. I had three records I would play over and over again. They were:
1. Pete Seeger Sings with the Sesame Street (totes age appropriate)
2. Care Bears Around the World (Ditto)
3. The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (not so much)
I remember screaming "Wham bam thank you ma'am!" at the top of my lungs. At age 3. My mom said it was so cute.
Even when I got older I still remembered all the words to all the songs.
I played that record until it warped. I still have it, along with about 250 other wonderful records my mom left me when she moved. Original Beatles, Stone, Jethro Tull, Sabbath...etc. All bought at first release. Its so amazing.
I love the way records sound. I love the scratching noises they make when you have to switch sides. I wait for the skips in the records, I know where they are in which song.
In other news, more drunken chat roulette, leading to my present drunken blogging.
I hope it's been coherent.
I never have my camera on. I am not very good at this blogging thing. I think people only look for pictures, and skip over the words.
Please read my blog. I will love you forever and ever. And I will give you a big hug if you comment.
Love,
E
