I Was Right

I can't sleep again. SO I will write about hipster kids and why they make me mad.

I think its an attitude thing. I can handle tight pants and ironic t shirts. I can even handle stupid haircuts and ironic tattoos. But I cannot stand it when someone acts all holier than thou about music.

I am always going to listen to Weezer. And Tool. And Reggie & the Full Effect. Always. Let it go. Yes I listen to Explosions in the Sky, and Stars, and even Bonnie Prince Billy. But I wouldn't like those things if I didn't listen to music before that.

I also reserve the right to listen to Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Rihanna, and Flo Rida.

But yes I listen to Jedi Mind Tricks and Immortal Technique and Andre Nickatina and Masta Killah and Murs and Zion I and the Grouch.

But I still like 2Pac, Eazy-E, and Public Enemy.

I love Girl Talk.

I also love musical theater soundtracks.

So drop the attitude and quit pretending like your parents don't pay your rent.

Because I know all those kids in dirty clothes and worn out shoes, smoking parliaments and drinking PBR, get an allowance.

And its great that you dropped out of school, or that you came from Scottsdale to Tucson to "slum it," But don't hate on Tucson. Its a great town, and it has more culture than you have in your little finger.

Try reading a book that wasn't written by Bukowski some time.

And while I'm at it, stop trying to emulate Bukowski. He was a great writer but he was also a worthless drunk who never really cared about anyone but himself. Who wants to be that?

And yes, I believe in God. I don't shit on your apathetic world view, so don't shit on mine.

Grow up.

That felt good.
