Cinco De Mayo Part II/ Movie Time!!!

LAST DAY OF REAL SCHOOL!!!!! I have two papers and two tests. This has been the semester from hell. I will be happy to kiss it goodbye.

I celebrated with some wine and tomato soup (my fave!). Tonight I am going to help Emily unpack. Free things maybe???

Ok. Movie review. Its been a while.

One of my all time favorites: "Brining Up Baby"

I stayed home sick from school once when I was about 16. I have always been obsessed with TCM. I can't remember if I was actually sick or just faking, but I was watching TCM and eating oatmeal either way. The next movie to be shown was some "comedy" starring Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant. I liked Katharine Hepburn, but I was dubious that a movie from 1938 could actually still be funny. I mean, so much of comedy is context, right??

It is, without a doubt, the single funniest movie I have ever seen. I can't give away much of the plot. Just know this:

It involves a ditzy socialite, a square paleontologist, a missing dinosaur bone, and a leopard.

Hilarity ensues. Please watch it!!! It is amazing, and totally worth your time! A classic in the "screwball comedy" genre. Kate Hepburn is amazing, as per usual. Cary Grant is just oh so charming, even as a stick-in-the-mud, no fun having scientist.

Worth noting--Katherine Hepburn's laugh. I can't even describe it. You just have to hear it.

Bringing Up Baby--1938

A still from one of my favorite scenes. Check out the cheekbones on Kate!
